Editorial policy
Orry’s guides explain job ads, pay and job search in Australia. This page says how they are chosen, written, checked and corrected.
How we choose topics
We write about questions Australian job seekers actually search for. Topics come from keyword research: search suggestions, questions people ask on forums, and search volumes from Google and Bing where we have them. We skip topics where we can’t add something useful.
How guides are written
- Drafts are written with AI assistance. We use Anthropic’s Claude, with web search, to research the topic, read what already ranks and draft the guide. We say so because you should know.
- The drafting instructions forbid invented statistics, quotes and testimonials, any advice to apply or not apply for a job, and any claim about your chances of being hired.
- Every factual claim needs a source. The sources are kept with the guide and listed at the end of it, so you can check them yourself.
- Where a guide mentions Orry, it describes only what Orry does today.
Fact-checking and approval
- Nothing is published without a person’s approval. Orry’s founder reads every draft, checks figures and rules against the listed sources, and approves, edits or rejects it.
- For rates and thresholds (super, leave, tax), we prefer official sources such as the ATO, the Fair Work Ombudsman and Moneysmart, and we check them again before publishing.
- Each guide shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated.
- Charts and illustrations are made for the guide; any figures in them come from the guide and its sources.
Not advice
Guides and calculators are general information, not financial, tax, legal or career advice. They don’t know your circumstances. For decisions that matter, check with your employer, the ATO, the Fair Work Ombudsman or a qualified adviser.
Independence
Orry is a product of Rubik’s Cube Consulting Pty Ltd. Guides are not paid for or sponsored, and we don’t accept payment to mention a company. LinkedIn and SEEK are trademarks of their owners; Orry is not affiliated with them.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us: email hello@meetorry.com or use the contact form, with the page and what needs fixing. We check the source, fix the guide if it’s wrong and update its “Updated” date. A correction that changes a figure or a conclusion is noted in the guide.
